WHO WE ARE

Eons ago, early human hunters wrapped felled meat in wild plant leaves to prolong its useable life. After generations of keeping and cooking the hard-won prize in this way, new plants and fruits were used for medicinal and spiritual enhancement. Finally, as culture evolved and modern humans claimed their place as soverign of the land, sea and sky, practical herb and spice remedies became regional flavors.

Sometime along the way, the pride of selected and reveared ingredients was lost in favor of synthetic extenders, artificial sweeteners, and corn syrup.

Enough. I am looking back in order to move forward, remembering that primal hunger for the bounty of the earth.

Join me at the hearth.
